Impact & Equity
PDX Diaper Bank was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to necessary diapering supplies in order to promote health, wellness, and productivity. Reliable access to clean diapers not only supports child/family health, but also provides opportunities for education, job placement/security, stable housing, and more. In other words, diapers create opportunities.
Diapers are not a luxury, but a basic health necessity. With so many Oregon families living in poverty, and no government programs in place to support their diapering needs, purchasing diapers is an unbearable expense for many caregivers. 1 in 3 families are negatively impacted by diaper need, and our nation’s poorest families spend up to 14% of their annual income on diapers alone!
Diversity Statement
The mission of PDX Diaper Bank is to improve the lives of the people in Portland and surrounding communities. We believe that the diversity of our community is a fundamental strength of our region. Our mission is best fulfilled when we embrace diversity as a value and a practice.
PDX Diaper Bank strives to be a model of diversity and inclusion. We support diversity in all its forms, encompassing, but not limited to, age, disability status, economic circumstance, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation. We believe that bringing diverse individuals together allows us to collectively and more effectively address the issues that face our communities. It is our aim, therefore, that our board, partners, strategies, and investments reflect these core values.

“The most impactful part about PDX Diaper Bank is that it is not a replicated service. Without their assistance, we would not be able to offer diapers or diapering supplies to any of our residents.”

PDX Diaper Bank continues to grow every year because of outstanding volunteers and generous community support. Approximately 421 hours of volunteerism supported us throughout 2023. I am extremely honored to be a part of an organization that is committed to supporting the health of our friends, our families, and our neighbors.
